5.Is it click or drag?
|
The basics are "clicking when drawing a straight line" and "dragging when drawing a curve".Dragging if the path to try to draw now using the Pen tool needs a control handle, it meets and its clicking if not being.
Almost, let's attempt to draw a straight line from the straight line in Adobe Illustrator.
1)Because the path begins with the straight line ( there is not a control handle ), it clicks in the position of A.
2)Because it draws a straight line, it clicks in the B position.
3)There is not work because it continues from the straight line and it draws a straight line.
4)Because it draws a straight line, it clicks in the position of C.
It merely clicks this only.Under present condition, in, it is possible to draw only a straight line.
Therefore, the path becomes a curve when dragging a mouse and taking out a control handle.Next, it draws a curve from the curve.
1)Because the path begins with the curve ( there is a control handle ), it drags from the position of A.
2)Because it draws a curve, it drags from the B position.
3)There is a control handle because it continues from the curve and it draws a curve.
4)Because it draws a curve, it drags from the position of C.
It becomes a curve because the control handle stretches from the anchor points when continuing a drag. Moreover, because two control handles which stretch from the 1 corner anchor points are straight, the path becomes a smooth curve.( As for the mechanism of the control handle, you see the 3rd lecture [ the image of the control handle of the Bezier curve ] .)
However, this time, it is possible to draw only a curve. It uses " the Convert Direction Point tool " to change to the curve from the straight line in Adobe Illustrator or to change to the straight line from the curve.( It is explained with the following 6th lecture .)
